. . . that this magazine chose this picture for their cover story on Jane Eyre. Considering, of course, that this scene is potentially the most traumatic and devastating scene of the entire novel. I haven't read the whole article yet, but from the headings and captions [and pictures!] they seem to be emphasizing the romantic. Hmm . . . .

The new Jane Eyre website is up, with great backstage photos and a clip from the first episode. And, since I just realized you can embed YouTube videos . . .

My opinion of her is slightly improved by this, but not so of him (rather fortified by a lengthy discussion with my Bronte-scholar professor!). We shall see, though ( Read more... )
